A Christmas Gift from Jeremy, Kristin & Shannon

Staying current with design is a fast moving target. What's cool today can be outdated tomorrow. If you surf the web much, you may have noticed a lot of the same styles in the look of the graphics and layouts. One of these popular styles is the following:

As a way of saying "MerryChristmas", I would like to show you all how to make this graphic using Adobe Photoshop. So Here it is...

1. Make a new Photoshop Image

(click on the images to see larger)

2. Using the font "Arial Rounded", type your text in all lowercase letters. I'm going to use "pmtvoice" for this example. Make your text black for now, we'll adjust the color later.

3. Goto the top menus and goto "Layer > Layer Style > Blending Options". This will open up the Layer Style window.

4. In the Styles column along the left side of the window, select "Color Overlay". Next, click on the color block in the area to the right (This should be black just like our text). Select the color you like, I have chosen a light blue for my button.

5. Next go to the "Outer Glow" Style. Modify the settings in this pane to reflect the image below.

6. Lastly, go to the " Stroke" Style, and modify the settings to match the image below.

7. Your image should look like this one.

8. Goto the File Menu and first save your file as a Photoshop (psd) file and then save it as a (jpg) for the internet.

Meet the E-Commerce Team

Taming this new frontier is both challenging and fun as we learn the ins and outs of being successful online. There are 4 of us braving this world of electronic free-for-all, day in and day out, and here we are...

Kristin - Content Editor

Kristin is the resident description writer. She is able to take all of the information from the different sources and combine it to present a great explanation of each product. She recently helped to make Custom Ribbon available to all affiliate sites.

Shannon - Content Editor

Pricing Structures, Image Management, and all things organization, Shannon is the gatekeeper for all of these and many other pieces of information that allow us to sell our labels, tags, and more online. A constant struggle to keep things in updated and easy to find, Shannon works tirelessly to make sure things just work.

Jeremy - Technical Coordinator

I guess I'm sort of a cross between tech support and designer. I take care of a lot of the templates in the design tool and wizard products(Some of my recent favorites:Wine Labels, Anniversary Seals). I love new technology, and staying current with the latest and greatest.

Melissa - Fearless Leader/Director of E-Commerce

Being a fearless leader can be scary to some, but Melissa has managed to keep us growing and continually looking for areas of improvement. Besides managing our internet presence, she also does some of the behind-the-scenes stuff like: SEO (Search Engine Optimization, PPC (Pay-per-Click) and various other acronym type things to allow you, the customer, to be able to find us in the search engines.
